An ode to the layered language of craft.
Crafted in Conversation brings together the practices of ceramic artist Eline Mathe and illustrator and fashion designer Elysanne Schuurman in a dialogue rooted in fashion, material intelligence and process.
Clay meets textile like a memory held in the hand. Schuurman’s embroidered lines and illustrations extend into ceramic forms, while Mathe approaches clay as textile, folding, pleating and responding with her hand-painted dots. Textiles are embedded in clay; ceramic beads and ruffles return to fabric, appearing in both wearable pieces and spatial works.
The works move between fashion and object: they can be worn, but also inhabit space.

Elysanne
I am a Dutch artist based in Vicenza, Italy, working between fashion, illustration, and textile design. After graduating from the Art Academy in the Netherlands, I developed a practice that transforms drawing into tactile textiles, custom pieces, and wearable art.
From her studio in Italy, she creates custom-made pieces, colorful fashion with her own prints, live sketches, and hands-on workshops.
Inspired by people, movement, nature, and the human body, her work explores pattern, form, and the meeting point of fashion and art.
Eline
From her home studio in Arnhem, she launched Creatrice Ceramics in 2021, embracing the fusion of fashion and pottery.
Rooted in a background in fashion, her work draws from the world of haute couture. She explore the craft of pottery through a fashion-driven lens, where ceramics become a tactile canvas for reimagining the elegance of textiles
